Red Lodge Area Food Partnership Council
Mission: Our mission is to vigorously promote a sustainable, local food system that encourages a better quality of life for our citizens, improves our community’s economy and self-reliance and preserves the land for generations to come.
Services Offered: The Food Partnership Council is active in several areas in Red Lodge which serve to promote local food and improve the nutrition available to local families.
CONNECTING PRODUCERS AND CONSUMERS
FPC works to make local produce and meat more available and with greater variety. This means more producers raising products and more outlets for consumers. FPC arranged for SNAP credit to be accepted at the Red Lodge Farmers Market.
SCHOOLS: MEALS AND EDUCATION
FPC works with the wellness committee, local producers, and the school food service program to make healthy, local food available in the cafeteria, while providing education on nutrition and local agriculture the classrooms and Youth Garden. Students active in the Youth Garden take their produce home.
FOOD RELATED EVENTS
Events have included film viewing, community dinners, adult education classes and joint support for events with other community members and organizations.
The gardening contingent encourages and teaches people how to grow, cook, eat, and preserve their own produce. They are involved in coordinating community gardens for area residents.

Educate residents to believe that they have the power to make food choices that support their community, enhance their health, and improve the sustainability of our environment.
